Walkers are secured
WAKE helps acquire mobility walkers that can be sent to elders who need them.
Our Work
WAKE focuses on a simple but meaningful need: helping elders in Amazonian Kichwa communities gain access to mobility walkers that can improve safety, movement, and independence in daily life.
In remote communities, access to mobility support is not always easy. For elders, a walker can make a major difference in everyday life, helping with balance, mobility, and confidence while moving through the home or community.
WAKE exists to help meet that need in a direct and practical way. The work is centered on respect, relationship, and meaningful support.
How It Works
01
WAKE helps acquire mobility walkers that can be sent to elders who need them.
02
Support helps make shipping and transportation possible so the walkers can reach the region.
03
The walkers are placed into the hands of elders, helping improve mobility and daily independence.
Why It Matters
A walker is more than a piece of equipment. It can help an elder move more safely, participate more fully in community life, and maintain greater independence.
WAKE’s work is not about “rescuing.” It is about offering practical help in a respectful way that responds to a real need.
Small, practical support can make a meaningful difference in everyday life.
Help WAKE continue supporting elders through walkers, transport, and distribution.
